Formerly the lead singer of Gearbox, Kalem has toured Europe, Canada and the US and picked up several MUSIC NL industry and East Coast Music awards along the way. He's also known as the guy who co-wrote the widely-released hit “Shines Right Through” with Great Big Sea.

Bio: After completing and finishing within Canadian Idol's Top 50 of 2008, Justin joined together with several other Newfoundland Idol contestants and performed live at venues across the province. Striking out on his own in the summer of 2009, he has since then showcased his talents in solo acoustic sets on and around George Street to much critical acclaim. Justin Fancy also performs regularily in the downtown scene as part of a Thursday night band put together by local musicians.

He is widely known in the live entertainment scene as former frontman for the well-known local rockers Silverseed and member of Smokey and the Bandits, The Fanatics, and just way too many other bands to list here. First from George Street west and then joined by another stroll up along from the eastern entrance, it's the easiest and most amusing way to find the pub on George. WHALEN'S PUB - AS SEEN ON YOUTUBE

This video of a bachelor party visiting the pub surfaced on YouTube a short while ago. It was posted by someone named BrookCove and the star performer was identified as "Herb", which we believe is a very thin alias for a couple of guys from Clarenville. But after a few guesses ourselves, we're still not sure. If you know the identity of the lucky guy in question, please send it along to us. Nice jacket, buddy!
